FlexEgen — Acoustic Generator Enclosures

FlexEgen
Acoustic Generator Enclosures
Formerly QSK Generator Enclosure
Purpose-built

Power Generation Environments for:

  • Diesel generators
  • Gas generators
  • CHP (combined heat and power) systems
  • DRUPS (diesel rotary UPS) systems
  • Multi-generator power plants

DeliversA complete operating environment for power generation equipment.

FlexEgen is an engine-agnostic acoustic enclosure for diesel and gas generators. The enclosure is designed around the genset — ventilation, exhaust routing, fuel and acoustic treatment all sized to the engine. Standard UK build includes a bunded floor.

FlexEgen assembly

FlexEgen factory assembly — Cummins QSK engine being built and tested on the production line.

Three formats

One FlexEgen platform. Three structural base formats.

Every FlexEgen is the same acoustic enclosure family — chosen base format depends on fuel autonomy, site civils and installation method.

Dropover format
01

Dropover

Enclosure drops directly over a customer-supplied genset and bunded base. Minimal structural steel — maximum integration with existing equipment.

Integrated fuel tank format
02

Integrated fuel tank

Structural base tank doubles as fuel storage and chassis. Bulk fuel autonomy in a single lift, with bunded containment built into the enclosure.

Skid base frame format
03

Skid base frame

Heavy-duty structural skid for craning and re-deployment. Sits on a slab or concrete plinth — engineered for transport and rapid relocation.

Scope

Standard, optional and what we never do

Standard

Included on every FlexEgen unit.

  • Acoustic-rated enclosure shell (standard: 85 dBA @ 7.5m)
  • Weatherproof cladding and structural base frame
  • Ventilation louvres sized for combustion and cooling air (with airflow calculations)
  • Exhaust system penetration / interface point
  • Fuel line interface point
  • Access doors for maintenance and servicing
  • Roof bracket for muffler / silencer mounting
  • Bunded floor (standard on all UK projects)
  • Thermal insulation and corrosion protection
  • Documentation package and lifting / transportation provisions

Optional extras

Specified per project, costed as add-ons.

  • Enhanced acoustic package — down to 60 dBA @ 1m
  • Electrical interface package — external cabinet(s) for cable connection, load bank, BMS/SCADA, ATS
  • Enhanced fuel package — internal bulk tank, fuel level monitoring, bund leak monitoring
  • Internal infrastructure, electrical building services, fire/safety, and security packages

Exclusions

Out of scope — owned by other trades.

  • Power cabling termination — NEVER our scope
  • The generator set itself
  • Fuel storage beyond the interface point
  • Exhaust silencer / piping beyond the penetration
  • Control or ATS panel (unless separately specified)

WE NEVER TERMINATE POWER CABLING — THAT STAYS WITH THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR / INTEGRATOR.
